Together with Rights and Resources Initiative we're co-convening a groundbreaking congress in Windhoek, Namibia, from Oct 25-27,2023. This 3-day Congress will be the first-ever platform for cross-regional learning on community-led conservation and knowledge systems in Africa. It will focus on five topics: 1. Human-wildlife interactions and strategies to reduce conflict with wildlife 2. Grievance redress mechanisms for past and ongoing community rights violations 3. The role and participation of women and youth in conservation 4. Indigenous Peoples’ and local communities’ land tenure and livelihoods 5. Conservation systems reforms and global climate and biodiversity goals
